Monique Baldwin

Monique Baldwin

“When I came to England I was fortunate to find myself living in the Cotswolds. Being surrounded with so much natural wonder has a great influence on me and my passion for artistic creativity, something I’ve had from an early age. I think of myself as extremely lucky to earn a living doing something that I really love. It’s more like a full-time hobby than a job. This is undoubtedly helped by the fact that I work with like-minded people who are great fun and want to share their enthusiasm and love of their work with others. Hopefully all of this is encapsulated in the pieces we produce.”

Peter Calvesbert

“I first picked up a piece of clay at age 3, but the opportunity to launch Harmony Kingdom was missed for another 30 years. In 1976 I took a job as a ceramic artist. Six years later it dawned on me that all the interesting people had left after six months. I took my cue and moved on. I dabbled in brick laying, cartooning, unemployment, plumbing and journalism. Then one day I watched a friend sculpt and said ‘I could do that.’ And I did. I concentrate on humorous work, and love the little twists I can add to really make it sing. I hope I’m doing this when I’m 100.”

Ginny Diezel

Ginny Diezel

Ginny Diezel cannot recall a time when she wasn’t drawing, painting, or playing with dime store clay. Her parents indulged her in all things creative, and although she has a degree in French and taught school for several years, her passion for artistic expression through dance, music, illustration, sculpture, and cooking has been her lifelong focus. She has volunteered in the classroom with children who have learning disabilities, and has taught classical ballet on the college level. She makes her home in Virginia Beach, living on the edge of a marsh replete with wildlife. Here she enjoys the beauty of nature, which she imparts through her artwork.

“As an academically trained artist, for many years I sat at my easel, palette and brush in hand, creating masterpieces for the advertising trade: sausages painted in the style of Rembrandt, margarine in the style of Monet. It may have been painting but it was not art. As I fled London for the obscure sanctuary of Somerset, my thoughts turned to creating something less ephemeral and something which people actually wanted. When I entered the three-dimensional ‘real’ world, I turned my imaginings and scribbles into reality. Suddenly I had a direction for my energies - and sketches, sculptures and writings have been pouring forth ever since!”

Ann Richmond

Ann Richmond

Ann grew up within the Stroud Valleys, deep in Gloucestershire, England. From an early age, she discovered an interest in and affinity for the natural world; perhaps inspired whenever she came across the many waifs & strays she would find locally. Abandoned chicks, kittens & mice - in Ann, all would find a friend. This growing interest would be expressed through drawing & painting and as time passed, increasingly in sculpture. A rediscovery of this skill in later years, was to see Ann explore the medium of fired clay, before moving into more intricate commissions for giftware companies. Now established in a countryside studio in the heart of Wiltshire, she divides her time between sculpting for giftware and producing clay pieces for local galleries.
